UH has opened a new parking garage. The

Houston Chronicle

's Lisa Gray calls it a

"parking pep rally"

for its apparent Coog spirit.

Leave it to Swamplot to go one better, and dig up this raperino-hippity-hopper song extolling the garage's greatness.

We'll give you the lyrics, but you have to listen to it to get the full enjoyment of a complete lack of rhythm and skills.

Jay C and Sam D, take it away!!!

East side parking garage, coming on November 11th
Open 24 hours, just like at 7-11
Park, park here when you can
and become a fan
Don't worry because we got a whole bunch of security cams
So when you come to the east side parking garage
Come and park and that way you can become part of the Cougar entourage

Sorry, Jay-Z, we don't have contact info for these guys. You're gonna have to find them on your own.

Keep the Houston Press Free... Since we started the Houston Press, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Houston, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Houston with no paywalls.
