Witnesses said a woman committed suicide at the Double Tree.
A woman this afternoon leapt to her death from the 25th floor of the Double Tree Suites hotel on Westheimer, according to the Houston Police Dept.

No further information was available on the incident. According to department spokesperson John Cannon, witnesses said it was an apparent suicide.

Police said a call came in around 2:40 p.m. about the suicide, and that the woman was pronounced dead on the scene.

Authorities have not released the woman's name and are awaiting autopsy results.
