Brett Floyd and Floyd Landry are partners in Floyd's Cajun Seafood and Steakhouse (1300 East Broadway, 281-993-8385), which recently opened in Pearland. "We opened the Floyd's in Webster in 2004, then another one in Beaumont in 2006, which had been a Don's Seafood for 38 years," says Brett Floyd, "and finally we found this building, which used to house Zydeco's and already had a Cajun image, so it didn't need much. There is a large customer base in Pearland and Friendswood. The area has grown so much, and we have a very strong following. We're known for our flounder and for our grilled oysters, although we also do a lot of barbecue crabs and king crab legs simply basted in the oven. We own a crab plant in La Paz, Mexico, near the Baja Peninsula, so we have control over what we're getting. Nothing is ever frozen here."
Café Bites found the crab-stuffed mushrooms to be an outstanding appetizer, and the barbecue crabs worth all the work involved in eating them.
