Support the independent voice of Houston and help keep the future of Houston Press free.

If you haven't already, click on over to our Deal of the Day page, where $60 VIP tickets for the upcoming Haute Wheels food truck festival for Sunday only are on sale for only $30. This is the second week we've offered a 50 percent discount on the tickets, and last Monday tickets for Saturday all sold out by 1:30 p.m. So go! Now!

And if you're wondering what's so special about those VIP tickets, here's some dish:

The tickets will get you entrance to the festival as well as entrance to a private lounge area sponsored by yours truly, the Houston Press. Inside that lounge area will be plenty of shade -- this is important on a hot, sunny day -- as well as free wine and beer samples. Yes, samples. But there will be a lot to go around.

You'll also get goodie bags to take home and -- perhaps the most important thing of all -- access to private restrooms. Private, clean restrooms. At a festival, those are nearly priceless.

See you there. We'll be in the lounge, naturally.

Keep the Houston Press Free... Since we started the Houston Press, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Houston, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Houston with no paywalls.
