Best Bakery: Koffeteria
Pastry chef and owner Vanarin Kuch–a former ‘Top Chef: Just Desserts’ contestant–has upped the bakery game with this outside-the-pastry-box spot over in EaDo. Not only does Koffeteria provide the buttery, crunchy shelled croissants you find at many of the coffee shops around town, the bakery and cafe celebrates Houston’s diversity through its seriously craveable creations. Go for savory numbers like the beef pho kolache or a parmesan and tapioca cheese bread hit with crispy bacon, fluffy eggs, and a fish sauce-kissed Thai chili jam; or score next-level sweets from a dark chocolate-passion fruit tart to the raspberry coconut flourless cake with black sesame nougatine.
