Best Sandwich: Sandwich of the Day at Montrose Cheese and Wine
One of the most sneaky, under-the-radar places for a great sandwich in Houston is a cheese and wine shop. Montrose Cheese and Wine has great selections of both cheese and wine, sure, but its “sandwich of the day” is something not to miss. Each day, they rotate through a series of selections like Porchetta, Provolone, Dill Pickles, Tangy Paprika Aioli, Farm Greens, on Ciabatta; Spicy Spreadable Salami (!!), House Giardinera, Baby Arugula, on Demi Baguette; or a Thursday vegetarian option like the Caprese. We have even heard they occasionally roll out a dynamite club sandwich, but you don’t know what is on the menu until you visit, which is part of the joy of it all.
