Best Waterfront Restaurant: Pier 6 Seafood & Oyster House

Impressive views of the tranquil waters of Galveston Bay are on full display at this San Leon dining destination, which features local seafood plucked straight from the sea, including Gulf oysters, shrimp, crab and seasonal bycatch. The tide-to-table concept comes from second-generation oysterman Raz Halil of Prestige Oysters and uber-talented executive chef Joe Cervantez, who sharpened his knives at places like Killen’s Steakhouse and Brennan’s of Houston. Dine on the open-air indoor and outdoor patio to enjoy the breeze as you slurp up freshly shucked oysters, seafood fondue, and cornmeal-crusted red snapper; and grab a lounge seat or swing chair for a post-meal cocktail or two.
