Comment of the Day: Down with Luby's Mac & Cheese

Here on Eating Our Words, the commenters absolutely make the blog, and our Comment of the Day honors the best of the bunch.

Every day, we read you guys and pick the commenter, or commenters, who made us laugh, cry, salivate over something delicious, or think about things in a new way.

In return, we offer them a virtual White Russian.

Today Ginny Braud compared Luby's mac & cheese to her copycat recipe, which got readers debating the dish at the famed cafeteria.

Reader Corey is not a fan:

It may sound odd but I genuinely don't understand the attraction to Luby's Macaroni.. I don't know bland food may comfort some but it's wasted calories in my book.. I'll hand grate some fontina, cheddar, provolone, and havarti before I'd ever eat cafeteria food ie senior citizen chow again.

Understood! (And more for us...)
