Comment of the Day: Sending Food Back to the Kitchen

Here on Eating Our Words, the commenters absolutely make the blog, and our Comment of the Day honors the best of the bunch.

Every day, we read you guys and pick the commenter, or commenters, who made us laugh, cry, salivate over something delicious, or think about things in a new way.

In return, we offer them a virtual White Russian.

Today Katharine Shilcutt talked about all the foods she's seen sent back for no reason, leading readers to share their own embarrassing tales.

The story led reader Mag to weigh in on the general practice of sending food back:

funny stories.....I never send anything back, I just chalk it up to never order it again if I don't like it. I think sending anything back to the kitchen is just asking for someone to spit in your food!

It seems that whatever the problem - legit or not - some people are entirely comfortable sending food back, and others aren't. Would you do it?
