Conversation Heart-Infused Vodka

Valentine's Day is fast approaching, and for many of us, that translates to an increased desire for creative booze recipes. Why just drink when you can drink with a theme? It helps ease the alcoholic guilt of downing an entire fifth of vodka by yourself on a Monday evening.

I recently came upon a unique vodka-infusion recipe that infuses the alcohol with Conversation Hearts.

Sheila from stylish home.com offers easy-to-follow, step-by-step instructions on how to make these fabulous vodka drinks, which can be given away as gifts to your friends and loved ones or even just displayed beautifully on your home bar.

The process is simple: pour 8 ounces of vodka into an empty water bottle, add in about 40 conversation hearts (all one color - do not mix, or the result will be an ugly blackish mess), let them dissolve, then pour into a prettier bottle and drink.

It's a straightforward process, but the originality of the idea makes it one worth trying. I think I'm going to make a batch of the pink hearts, and mix it with a splash of sparkling raspberry soda topped with a small squeeze of chocolate syrup for some true Valentine's Day decadence.
