Guess Those Hands: The Real Food Network Challenge

It's Memorial Day. You've eaten too much today and gotten too much sun, so you've retreated back indoors to the cold comfort of your computer screen. We understand. Believe me, we understand.

And to that end, we came up with a fun game for you to pass the time on your day off that combines all of our favorite indoor pastimes into one: clicking the computer's mouse rather absentmindedly while watching TV. You can also grab some slices of Drunk Watermelon if you want; just keep them away from the mouse.

You watch these chefs knead dough and dice vegetables all the time on the Food Network and its sister network, The Cooking Channel, but how well do you really know them? Well enough to recognize them by their hands alone?

Ten chefs -- male and female -- are on the following pages, hands first. Can you guess all ten by their hands alone?

For the first chef, we're giving you a foursome of photos to peruse. Think you know this man's hands?

It's Alton Brown, our favorite Food Network personality, soon to be gone from our TV sets, trussing a turkey.

Next, a pair of manicured hands that should be instantly recognizable to any longtime viewers of the Food Network.

It's Giada De Laurentiis, whose hands always look way too nice for a professional chef.

This chef's hands are full with a different activity than usual: a book signing. But even outside of the kitchen, there are a few clues here as to her identity.

It's Ina Garten, who rarely goes anywhere without that gold bracelet.

These intertwined hands should be a no-brainer.

It's the Neelys, who posed for this photo for a series that Eater recently did of chefs' hands in close-up.

These hands are posed next to a double boiler that imitates this chef's famous figure.

It's the beautiful Nigella Lawson, the English muffin herself.

These hands are also perhaps a bit out of context for those who are accustomed to seeing this chef on her signature show.

It's Alex Guarnaschelli, taking a break from judging Chopped on her own show, Alex's Day Off.

These fists mean business, as this chef usually has a throne to defend.

It's Cat Cora, the only female chef on Iron Chef and an all-around badass.

This chef's hands were captured in action during filming.

It's Sunny Anderson, who is so cute -- and, true to her name, sunny -- I almost want to punch her. But she also seems like she'd punch me back. Yeah, I like her.

These hands only belong to one member of this famous duo, which is really all the hint you need here.

It's the Two Fat Ladies, God rest Jennifer Paterson's soul. Not to be a food show hipster, but old-school cooking shows were so much better than most of what's on these days combined.

Speaking of the good old days...

Yes, it's Julia Child. A fitting end to our game, and a tribute to the Cooking Channel for running her shows. Now if they'll only fit in some old Galloping Gourmet episodes...
