Here's Where to Celebrate National Cheeseburger Day (Friday) in Houston

Great news, burger lovers! Friday, September 18, is National Cheeseburger Day. From a burger contest where you can win free burgers for life to special deals on fat, greasy beef bombs, here's where to celebrate America's favorite beefcake in Houston:

Say CHEESE burger! BBB is running a social media contest for a chance to win a Bernie's Black Card*, good for Bernie's Burger Bus burgers for life! All you have to do is Tweet, Facebook or Instagram your best Bernie's Burger Bus cheeseburger photo between now and 3 p.m. on Friday, September 18, and complete the following steps:

1. Follow Bernie's Burger Bus on Facebook, Twitter (@berniesburgers) or Instagram (@berniesburgerbus).

2. Post or tweet an awesome photo of a Bernie's Burger Bus burger on your Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram account.

3. Include contest hashtags #berniesburgersforlife #nationalcheeseburgerday in your post.

They'll announce the National Cheeseburger Day contest winner and recipient of a lifetime of burgers later that day. *Bernie's Black Card members are entitled to one burger, fries and non-alcoholic drink of choice once a day for life. Card is non-transferable.

The Gr8 Plate Hospitality group, which includes both Jax Grill and Union Kitchen, is celebrating the day with unique burgers now through September 25. Each chef was challenged to create a few original burgers, with offerings including a bacon-topped gorgonzola fig burger at Union Kitchen Bellaire; a dreamy smoked gouda truffle burger at Union Kitchen Memorial; a pulled pork and cheddar TUK stuffed burger at Union Kitchen Kingwood; and a smothered Frito chili burger at Jax Grill (both locations). All Union Kitchen burgers are $12.95 at lunch (served with chips) and $14.95 at dinner (served with fries). Jax burgers range from $10.95 to $11.95 and are served at lunch and dinner with fries.

This burger haven is offering its classic burger and house-sauce-smothered Jerry's burger – both made with all-natural Angus beef on freshly baked buns – for $5 (reg. $7.50) this Friday.

Jonathan's The Rub

In honor of the special holiday, chef Jonathan Levine has put a sweet spin on his traditional Rub burger by creating the Cinnamon Bun Rub cheeseburger. That's a juicy nine-ounce patty topped with sautéed onions, bacon, creamy Havarti cheese and Levine's signature Jonny sauce, all of which gets sandwiched in a sliced cinnamon bun. We repeat. A burger on a cinnamon bun! Get the special for $17 on the lunch menu throughout September.

Owner and executive chef Domenic Laurenzo will be sharing the Italian, Mexican and American side of his family’s culinary traditions by offering his signature all-Hereford beef, outside skirt-steak burgers this Friday from open to close. With the fajita beef ground in house daily, you have your choice of  four guaranteed to be juicy fajita burgers. Options include the Tex-Mex fajita burger ($17.99) with caramelized onions, poblano peppers, asadero cheese, avocado and chipotle mayo; and the Dom fajita burger ($16.99), topped with capicola, fresh mozzarella and roasted red peppers. All fajita burgers come with house fries and happy hour prices on all draft beer.
