Chef Michael Mina and cookbook author Ayesha Curry plan to open the third location of International Smoke at City Centre in early 2018, as reported here in the Houston Press. The menu highlights global flavors in bold and dynamic dishes. There are two other locations in Waikiki and San Francisco. Michael Mina’s eponymous, Mina Group, manages 32 restaurants across the country. Ayesha Curry is a best-selling cookbook author and host of “The Great American Baking Show” and “Ayesha’s Home Kitchen”. She is married to Stephen Curry, professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors.

The popular Heights hot dog joint announced on its Facebook page that it will continue to do pop-ups in the area and loyal customers can get information on its social media. Owners Susan Shrum and Rebecca Sanders are planning a new venture for January 2018 called The Wildflour Artisan Bakery and Grill, which will be located in Canyon Lake, Texas.

Pluckers Wing Bar will open its third Houston area location at 20821 Gulf Freeway in Webster on November 21. The company has opened 20 locations across Texas and Louisiana since its original Austin restaurant in 1985. Their famous wings come with a choice of their signature sauces, such as Fire in the Hole and Spicy Mandarin. A Cypress location is planned for early 2018.
La Michoacana Meat Market, 16215 Stuebner Airline, had its grand opening November 5, serving free tacos to lucky customers. The
Firehouse Subs, 25551 Kingsland, opened October 23, according to Community Impact.
