Last week I learned to bake biscotti. I also learned of a good wine to drink while eating the aforementioned biscotti. Domaine de Vaugondy Vouvray Demi Sec 2004 is a lovely sparkling wine that pairs perfectly with moderately sweet, dry foods. The wine has a nice creaminess to it, which complemented the hard texture of the biscotti well. The biscotti was also dotted with dried fruit and spiced with anise, which added a lovely little kick to the smooth, slightly sweet wine.

I was so used to dunking my biscotti in my beverage that I actually did submerge the cookie in my glass for a moment, and I have to admit that the results weren't half bad. The bubbly vino infused the crunchy biscotti with a soft acidity that was a rather pleasant sensation on my palate. This was a mistake that I ended up "accidentally" repeating several times. Who needs Starbucks when you have Demi Sec?
