First, chef Junnajet Hurrapan's new hotspot Blu opens up in Sugar Land's Town Square. Now, the development is getting another interesting addition. According to the weekly B4-U-Eat newsletter:

The Japaneiro's people are opening Guru Burgers & Crepes at Sugar Land Town Square in May. It will serve gourmet burgers, crepes and a wide selection of local, micro-brewery draft beer and wine.

Back in town at West Ave, another mixed-use development that's seeing exciting new tenants lately, Katsuya by Starck is officially open tonight for dinner. Says the Chron's Greg Morago of the high-end L.A. sushi import: "The Katsuya signatures are ready to tempt Houston foodies with polished fare at once familiar and unexpected."

I received this promising-looking flyer in my email this morning from L'Olivier, the new Lower Westheimer bistro from acclaimed chef Olivier Ciesielski, formerly of Tony's. The highly anticipated new restaurant is set to open soon, right across the street from Numbers in a former adult bookstore. Ah, Houston!

Oxheart is also officially open to the public; the first service from husband-and-wife team Justin Yu and Karen Man was last night. Our own Mai Pham has a first look -- and a detailed slideshow of the tiny restaurant and kitchen -- at the Examiner.

If you're still curious about the break that Triniti is taking, Sarah Rufca at CultureMap has an explanation from chef Ryan Hildebrand himself: "We're playing and practicing," Hildebrand told Rufca. "Now that our staff has worked itself out everyone is in their niche and we're progressing as we refine."
