It's time to start making plans for New Year's Eve and Day, if you haven't already. Houston restaurants are opening their doors for you and your friends and family to celebrate the end of 2012 and beginning of 2013 with a delicious meal and champagne toasts at the strike of midnight.

Many locations offer live entertainment throughout the night leading up to 2013. Here is our list of restaurants open on New Year's Eve and Day. Most locations will serve a special New Year's Eve dinner menu, or a special New Year's Day brunch menu, however, some locations are simply open for regular service both days.

The Tasting Room

The Tasting Room offers events at their four locations for you and a special someone, or a group of friends and family to celebrate the New Year.

The Tasting Room Uptown Park 1101-18 Uptown Park Boulevard, 713-993-9800

At this location of The Tasting Room, you can have a romantic three-course dinner from 6 to 8:30 p.m. with wines selected by The Tasting Room's wine team for $20 extra per person. Enjoy a menu featuring crabmeat maison, pan-seared sea bass and even bananas foster prepared tableside.

If you'd rather ring in the New Year after dinner, come to the Uptown Park location from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. for live music, a champagne toast and a midnight balloon drop. The restaurant will offer small plates for everyone to enjoy throughout the night, with two complimentary glasses of sparkling wine. On New Year's Eve from 4 p.m. until midnight, bring a large group of friends (with a reservation, of course) and family to the CityCentre location for a prix fixe menu for $45 per person. Order tickets online to indulge in a menu filled with fried oysters with lemon-caper aioli, grilled filet of veal with mashed potatoes, a Cabernet demi-glace and asparagus, and finish the night with a pistachio pound cake with caramel and whipped crème.

Join the New Year's Eve Party at the CityCentre location from 8 p.m. until midnight with music, champagne toasts, a balloon drop, small plates and midnight fireworks. Visit their website online for more information regarding ticket purchases and prices.

At the Kings Harbor location of The Tasting Room, enjoy a prix fixe dinner on New Year's Eve starting at 4:00 p.m. The Executive Chef Brian Evans has created a menu featuring steak au poivre, house made lobster ravioli and an apple gallete. Bring that special someone to spend the last day of 2012 together.

The River Oaks location will host a New Year's Eve celebration from 4 p.m. until midnight filled with champagne and music for a festive party to ring in the new year. This location will be closed New Year's Day.

Fratelli's Authentic Italian Cuisine Restaurant 10989 Northwest Freeway, 713-957-1150

For just $39 per person, you and your loved ones can celebrate the end of 2012 with a prix fixe five-course menu from 5 p.m. until after midnight. Owner and Chef Teresa Tadeo Wittman has created a menu featuring an appetizer of crostini with prosciutto and Fontina cheese, tomato, garlic and onion and eggplant toppings, a ricotta-spinach gnocchi dish, an oven baked flounder fillet and a classic Italian tiramisu. Each meal includes, coffee, sodas, tea and a glass of sparkling wine to be enjoyed at midnight.

For $72 per person and a complimentary champagne toast when the clock strikes 12, you and your guests can enjoy a four-course meal on New Year's Eve featuring stuffed portabello mushrooms or lump crab cakes for the first course, followed by a harvest salad or butternut squash and apple soup, and crispy pan-seared duck or orechiette pasta with a gorgonzola cream sauce. Finish your meal with a festive eggnog cheesecake tart or a crème brulee made with Mexican vanilla.

On New Year's Eve, Hugo's will offer a four-course menu featuring crispy potato tacos with an avocado tomatillo salsa, blue crab soup with guajillo peppers, rack of lamb in a red mole, and a pyramid of chocolate and wild prickly pear sauce. For an elegant New Year's Eve dinner, make a reservation at Mockingbird Bistro Wine Bar and enjoy a four-course meal for $85 per person. Start the night with a baby heirloom tomato and bruschetta salad, followed by crab and sweet corn chowder, trio of Colorado lamb and a pumpkin crème caramel with cocoa mouse. Stay till midnight for a champagne toast.

Celebrate New Year's Eve with a four course menu starting at 5 p.m. For $60 per person, enjoy Texas blue crab cakes, cream of porcini mushroom soup, wood-grilled Bandera quail and a pannacotta éclair. Children's plates cost $10.

Quattro, Four Seasons Houston Hotel 1300 Lamar, 713-276-4700

Starting at 6:30 p.m., enjoy a glass of sparkling wine and a five-course meal for $85 per person. The New Year's Eve menu features oysters, canapés and prosecco, beef carpaccio, grilled lobster, a New Year shooter, selection of cheeses with fruit and jam, and their special last indulgence of 2012, a ricotta donut with orange-scented chocolate. At 8:30 p.m., visit the Four Seasons for a Gala dinner including a seven-course dinner menu featuring ahi tuna two ways, a glazed lamb chop and a grilled lobster with lobster risotto. The Gala dinner also includes live music, dancing and a toast at midnight.

From 5:00 to 10:00 p.m., celebrate New Year's Eve with a four-course meal including polenta-crusted crab cakes, a porcini-crusted petite beef tenderloin filet with a butternut squash puree and a pumpkin tart with cinnamon Chantilly cream.
