Each week, we put together a sampler plate of the most interesting links from both local and national food blogs. Know a blog we should be paying particular attention to? Leave the address in the comments section below.

Flavour Boulevard: We were introduced to a new(ish) Houston food blog this week by H Town Chow Down: Flavour Boulevard. Splitting their time between Berkeley and Houston, the bloggers have managed to cover an impressive list of Bayou City restaurants, including plenty of off-the-beaten-path Vietnamese joints.

Chili Bob's Houston Eats: Bob's been on the boudin hunt lately, with less than stellar results. That is until he found this quaint little joint on Homestead. Yes, we will totally be hitting them up this weekend.

Dude, Are You Going To Eat That?: Dr. Ricky discovers the abomination that is the new KFC Double Down sandwhich (you know, the one that uses two fried chicken breasts in lieu of bread) and comes to the scientific conclusion that if you eat one, you be crazy.

Beyond Beltway 8: Your daily dose of negativity comes from Cory, with his list of food trends that should die. While we actually agree with him on most points, it's frustrating to see someone with so much value to add actively tearing down the local food community instead of participating and offering constructive criticism.

Blue Jean Gourmet: If you love ciabatta bread but have always been unsure about making it yourself at home, Nishta has a guest post on her blog by her good friend, pastry chef Jessie Fila, that will send you straight to the kitchen. Go try it yourself tonight!

Keep the Houston Press Free... Since we started the Houston Press, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Houston, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Houston with no paywalls.
