Sampler Plate: This Week in Food Blogs

Each week, we put together a sampler plate of the most interesting links from both local and national food blogs. Know a blog we should be paying particular attention to? Leave the address in the comments section below.

Devour Houston: If you haven't yet had your fill of discussing this past Sunday's Houston Culinary Awards, head over to new-ish food blog Devour Houston for another take (with photos!) on the awards ceremony and winners.

Beer, TX: Great news from our friends at the Saint Arnold brewery: The addition of two new fermenting tanks has pushed the brewery's yearly capacity to a whopping 50,000 barrels. Ronnie Crocker reports on what this means for the brewery and for Houston beer lovers.

Robb Walsh: Our main oyster man went out with Louisiana Foods' Jim Gossen to check on the status of the new harvest of Gulf oysters and he has terrific news: Galveston Bay oysters are looking as good as ever.

CultureMap: More good news from CultureMap, which reports that this year's Houston Restaurant Week...er...Month raised a fabulous $585,562 for the Houston Food Bank. You did us proud, Houston diners.

From the Gutt: We end this week's roundup with an utterly refreshing and entirely pompousness-free post on picking and enjoying wine -- even if you don't know red from rose -- from one of Houston's best resources. Why can't more wine blogs read this way?
