In Houston, we're pretty serious about our brunch. Whether it be migas and breakfast tacos or chicken and waffles and loaded Bloody Marys, we have no shortage of awesome spots to get our brunch on. Keeping later hours and killer cocktails in mind, we'll be taking a look at some of our favorite spots around town. See the complete list at the end of this post.
This week, we're moving to the ever-beautiful Museum District.
Note: For the purposes of this list, the Museum District is defined as the area bounded by Main Street to the west, U. S. 59 to the north, Texas 288 to the east, and Holcombe to the south, with a few blocks expanded in each direction.

5. Monarch at Hotel ZaZa Sunday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This stylish restaurant and lounge boasts one of Houston's most picturesque patios. Surround yourself with lush gardens as you nosh on PB&J-stuffed French brioche, farm fresh eggs with bacon-cheddar biscuits and "pot pie" gravy, and plump, juicy burgers. Of course, you'll want those alongside fresh-pressed juice, boozy brunch cocktails, craft beer, and wines by the glass and bottle. It's known as a party brunch for a reason.
4. Danton's Gulf Coast Seafood Kitchen Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This soulful seafood resto' is just a stone's throw away from the city's best museums... and it serves up one hell of a Sunday Blues brunch. Head to this gem to enjoy live jazz as you feast on dark and velvety seafood gumbo, boudin eggs benny, French toast, and of course, oysters on-the-half-shell. Even the bloody Mary has that spicy, Third Coast flair -- the cocktail is made using the restaurant's gumbo. Make reservations to ensure seating.

3. Bosta Coffee & Wine Open daily 7 a.m.
Though this sleek, casual cafe opened less than two months ago, it's already become a neighborhood favorite. That's thanks to the charming service, excellent coffee and tea program from Greenway Coffee, and small menu of drool-worthy pastries, snacks, and sandwiches overseen by chef Justin Basye. Come to indulge in one of the city's most decadent croque monsieurs, buttery chocolate croissants, and prosciutto panini alongside a freshly whipped up cortado, latte, or screw it, a glass of wine.
2. Brooklyn Athletic Club Sunday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
On Sundays, this funky athletic club offers blackboard brunch specials in addition to its fantastic lunch menu. Come for the always popular Clubhouse burger (our 2013 Best of Houston winner) or go wild with specials like yard-egg-topped porkobucco hash, nutella-stuffed French toast, and the loaded Sunday frittata. The stellar brunch cocktails change up weekly, but you'll always find one of the best bloody Mary's and boozy mimosas, offered by the glass or the pitcher.
Bonus: Afterward, you can work your brunch of with a few games of bocce outside.

1. Lucille's Sunday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This bright and welcoming eatery serves up a killer Southern breakfast with charm. Start with an order of cornmeal-crusted fried green tomatoes or great grandma's chili-smothered biscuits before moving on to the big guns. Entrees include country-fried eggs benny, wings and hot cakes, and incredibly rich, andouille-loaded shrimp and stone mill grits. Tack on a pot of French press or a glass of mimosa, which can be made bottomless for just $15. Hey, it's Sunday!
