Grab a pita sandwich from Pocket to Me this Friday during Food Truck Friday at our office. Last week was unfortunately cancelled because there was some ice, but the weather is nice and perfect now for a fresh pita sandwich from the Pocket to Me food truck. Try the fish pocket with fried tilapia and coleslaw, or the Greek falafel pita stuffed with cucumber, lettuce, tomato and tahini sauce. Don't forget about the fries, especially the Wicked Fries. Step up to the Loaded Fries covered with cheese, chives, bacon and sour cream, by adding hot sausage, fire-hot spices and wicked sauce. You might need some water with that order.
The last Friday of each month, Kirbside Bar, inside the Whole Foods Market on Kirby, hosts Beer & Trivia night from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. Enjoy food and drink specials throughout the evening, and before -- from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. you can get $3 local pint specials during Local Brew Friday. Gather up the friends for a team and grab a seat at the bar before the trivia game begins. The winning team will get a $100 gift card.
Fort Bend Brewing Grand Reserve Release Party @ The Lodge Texas Tavern & BBQ Saturday, 6:30 p.m. 3130 S. Main, Stafford
Fort Bend Brewing Co. has released its newest brew and is headed to The Lodge Texas Tavern & BBQ on Saturday for another party. The Grand Reserve is an English-style barleywine. According to the brewery's description, the Grand Reserve is "surprisingly drinkable for a brew of this heft; substantial yet soft hop bitterness provides a balance to the myriad sweet dark fruit, maple, brown sugar and cocoa flavors you are sure to notice." The brewery has been to BRC Gastropub, Guru Burgers & Crepes and is now going to The Lodge Texas Tavern & BBQ. Come listen to brewery representatives talk about the new barleywine and the brewery. If you're one of the first 30 guests you will receive a free gift.

For three hours, your instructor will teach you how to make chocolate-dipped candied orange peel, dark chocolate and cherry biscotti, Grand Marnier-pistachio chocolate truffles and white chocolate peppermint truffles. Making chocolate is a difficult task, but with a little bit of help from an expert, you'll learn the skills needed to make these treats at home.
