Food Truck Fridays continue at our office with Speers Rolling Bistro. Stop by the Houston Press during lunch to grab a bite to eat from this food truck, which specializes in pork sandwiches, beef burgers and fries. Speers slow-roasts its pork in a marinade for nearly 12 hours, so you know the Cuban sandwich with ham, caramelized onions, pickle relish, citrus aioli, and Swiss cheese will be tender, juicy and bursting with flavor. Each sandwich and burger is assembled with bread from Slow Dough Bread Company. Don't forget to order a side of Bistro Fries -- garlic fries topped with roasted pork, a fried egg and a special Speers Rolling Bistro sauce. You might need a nap after this meal.
Brewery Tour Day @ No Label Brewing Co. Friday, 5-9 p.m. 5351-A 1st St., Katy
This week's Friday tour at No Label Brewing Co. will be extra special because Les Ba'Get, Happy Endings and Bravado Spice will be on site selling their products and food while guests enjoy brews from No Label's bar. Each guest will get a $10 wristband for beers. Celebrate the beginning of the weekend with regular and seasonal (or limited-edition) brews while snacking on Vietnamese bites and treats from Les Ba'Get and Asian fusion hot dogs and tacos from Happy Endings. The Bravado Spice guys will be selling and sampling their hot sauces as well.
Flea Market @ Discovery Green Saturday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. 1500 McKinney
The Flea Market at Discovery Green will take place on the second Saturday of the month rather than the third, to make way for the Houston Marathon the following weekend. Saturday's weather should be excellent for spending time outside, so head to Discovery Green and check out the various vendors selling crafts, clothes, jewelery and antiques. You'll definitely work up an appetite, so stop by Porch Swing Desserts to satisfy that sweet tooth and pick up some jars of salsa from Salinas Salsa Co. and a few bottles of hot sauce from Bravado Spice.

Fried Chicken Brunch @ L'Olivier Saturday, 12-2 p.m. 240 Westheimer
Head to L'Olivier for the Fried Chicken Brunch on Saturday in honor of the Lawndale Hairball 2014 Countdown. To get you excited for that big hair fundraiser party, which takes places on January 25, L'Olivier invites you to fill up on fried chicken, waffles, mac 'n cheese, a goat cheese salad and chocolate mousse. Tickets cost $35, but if you dress in "Hairball fashion" you'll receive a $5 discount. DJ Sun will also provide tunes during the afternoon brunch.
New Years Chicken Pop-Up Dinner @ D&T Drive Inn Saturday, 8-11 p.m. 1307 Enid St.
In his third Thai pop-up dinner, Chef PJ Stoops of the anticipated Foreign Correspondents will prepare three traditional Thai meat dishes and bags of sticky rice (each bag costs $2) in this New Years Chicken pop-up dinner at D&T Drive Inn. Stoops will prepare Gai Yang Isaan, which is a marinated and butterflied chicken slow grilled over coals; each whole chickens cost $26 and each half chicken costs $15. He will also serve a papaya salad, Tam Som, a traditional dish in Laos, for $8; it is prepared with fermented fish paste. The third dish will be fermented pork ribs, Naem Si Krong Mu, for $7; the ribs are fried after fermenting in a cooked rice-and-salt paste. Pair the food with Singha beer for a complete and scrumptious meal.
