Here’s a look at this weekend's best culinary happenings:
Astros Celebration at Biggio’s Sports Bar
Friday, beginning at 6 p.m.
Biggio’s Sports Bar is excited to keep the 'stros love alive. Astros legend Craig Biggio will be making the rounds throughout the restaurant to celebrate with fans from 6 to 6:30 p.m. and again from 8 to 8:30 p.m. Guests can dig in to offerings like the Ball Park Pretzel with beer mustard and green chili queso, the B.G.O filet mignon sandwiches with herb garlic aioli and onion straws on an English muffin (a Biggio family recipe) and a selection of all beef brisket Big Dog Hot Dogs, as well as cocktail and beer features all night long.
Houstonia Burger Bash at The Water Works at Buffalo Bayou Park
Saturday, noon to 5 p.m.
The fourth annual Burger Bash brings together local eateries as they face off compete to take home the title of Houston’s Best Burger, with entries ranging from the luxurious to the down-home. This year’s entrants include Jonathan’s the Rub, Killen’s Burgers, Hopdoddy Burger Bar, Urban Eats, Bernie’s Burger Bus and Ritual, among others. Tickets are $20 to $70.
Urban Harvest Pre-Thanksgiving Farmers Market at FM Kitchen and Bar
Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
FM Kitchen & Bar will convert its parking lot and patio into a Thanksgiving-themed farmers market from Urban Harvest. Guests can expect 15 local vendors offering a mix of holiday items along with a booth showcasing chef Ryan Hildebrand’s Thanksgiving to-go menu (available for pre-order through the end of the market). Hildebrand also will create a special brunch menu inspired by Urban Harvest vendors, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Urban Harvest.

The Gr8 Taco Challenge II at 8th Wonder Brewery
Sunday, noon to 4 p.m.
Some of Houston's favorite chefs and restaurants — including spots like Aqui, Bacon Bros Public House, Beaver’s, Hughie’s, Roostar Vietnamese Grill, The Pit Room and Xochi — are heading out to the brewery to throw down for the second annual Gr8 Taco Challenge. Tickets are $40 in advance ($50 at the door) and include a custom souvenir pint glass, four beer tokens and a taco sampling from each participating restaurant. Guests can also expect a Michelada bar and live music by Heapin' Helpin'. A portion of proceeds will be going to Kids' Meals Houston.
Annual Holiday Retail Sale at Camerata
Sunday, 2 to 6 p.m.
Camerata’s annual wine sale returns just in time for your holiday shopping (and sipping). The bar will be selling a special selection of hand-chosen bottles at retail price from major importers including Kermit Lynch, Selections de la Viña and De Maison. There will also be distributors will be on-site offering tasting notes and samplings and Camerata experts offering holiday recommendations, serving up selections of wine-by-the-glass along with cheese and charcuterie starting at 4 p.m.
