3rd Annual Tom Bawcock's Eve At Double Trouble

Tom Bawcock's Eve is traditional in Mousehole, Cornwall, but Houston has its own rendition of the event. It honors the legend of Tom Bawcock who saved the village by fishing during a severe storm This is the third year that chef Richard Knight (formerly of Feast and currently part of the Kipper Club pop-up dinners) has led the celebration at Double Trouble. Historic cocktails like Cornish Tin Miner's Punch, Mulled Cider & Mahogany will be served. At 9 p.m., enjoy a shadow puppet show of The Mousehole Cat, narrated by Knight and performed by The Shadow People. 3622 Main, Suite D. 8 p.m.

The Best Way To See Christmas Lights? Ride The Wave

Why drive around in some sporadic pattern to try and find great Christmas lights when The Wave will chauffeur you? Meet at the benches at Market Square Park and when you return, take advantage of specials at nearby restaurants Batanga (20% off food), El Big Bad, Fusion Taco, Hearsay Gastro Lounge or Niko Niko's. Enjoy holiday treats as you tour Discovery Green, River Oaks and Woodland Heights. You are also welcome to bring your own food and drink, but glass is not allowed. Kids four and under are free if they can sit in a parent's lap. Buses are first-come, first-seated and will make several stops to allow guests to take photos. $5 from each ticket sale benefits Buffalo Bayou Partnership. Buy tickets here. Holiday Cocktail Class At Yellow Rose Distilling

Bartender Houston Farris is giving a holiday mixology class at Houston's own whiskey and vodka producer, Yellow Rose Distilling. Spaces are limited and the class is expected to be a small group. Wednesday, December 17 Build a Better Doghouse--With Gingerbread!

Houston-area chefs will compete in the gingerbread doghouse competition. Paul's Kitchen is hosting the event. The competitors will include Brooklyn Athletic Club. Delicious Mischief Texas Cookbook Release Party

L.A. Bar (next to the original Rajun' Cajun on Richmond) hosts the release party for John Demers' new cookbook. He's the longtime host of the Delicious Mischief radio show on Talk 1370AM. Thursday, December 18 Holiday Pop-Up and Shop at Glitter Karaoke

Benji's On Washington executive chef Mike Potowski and chef du cusine Maria Gonzalez will be cooking a pop-up diner at Glitter Karaoke and there's also a holiday gift shop pop-up! German Beer Dinner at Kipper Club Test Kitchen

Meet at the address below, be transported to a secret location by bus and enjoy a collaborative beer dinner with Chef Adam Yoho of Otto's in Fredericksburg.
