Upcoming Events: Celebrate Summer & Anniversaries With Beer & Pigs

Keep celebrating Saint Arnold's 20th anniversary at BRC Gastropub on Wednesday, June 18, with a Pig Dinner. For $50, each person will get to feast on a menu of pork dishes paired with Saint Arnold brews. Savor BBQ pulled pork-stuffed piquillo peppers, paired with Saint Arnold Summer Pils. Wash down preserved lemon, mint, shrimp, chili and house made guanciale risotto with a glass of Weedwacker. Or how about braciole with rocotta cavatelli and Sunday gravy paired with Bishop's Barrel No. 4? Don't forget about dessert -- peach bacon cobbler with Amy's Brandy Alexander ice cream and Saint Arnold Barley Wine.

Stroll around Central Market on Thursday, June 19, during Beer Fest and sample a variety of craft beers, IPAs and food. The Beer Fest Stroll Around begins at 5 p.m. and costs $10 per person (must be 21 years and older). Each guest will receive a pint glass, a koozie, bottle opener, Central Market Beer Guide and Beer Fest Event Guide. Visit eight stations serving samples of beers and food pairings; beer experts will be on-site to discuss the brews and how each food pairs with its accompanying beer.

Brennan's of Houston will serve a family-style dinner featuring a whole suckling pig on Thursday, June 19, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Brennan's Big Easy Dinner: Pig Out Cochon du Lait costs $50 per person and features not only a whole suckling pig, but hogs head cheese salad, soup du jour, cracklins, boudin, dirty rice, vegetables and dessert. Reservations are required.

It's a two-fer anniversary party at Canyon Creek on Tuesday, June 24. The restaurant will celebrate its 4th anniversary with Saint Arnold as Saint Arnold commemorates its 20th anniversary with a beer dinner. The meal kicks off with a heirloom tomatoes, chilled jumbo lump crab and an avocado green goddess dressing paired with Icon Texas Common. Next, guests will be served a watercress and baby spinach salad with strawberries, spicy candied walnuts and radishes tossed in ginger orange vinaigrette, served with Summer Pils. The third course features seared sea scallops, roasted corn cream and garden peas, paired with Weedwacker. The fourth course is an iron-skillet filet mignon served with poblano Hollandaise and Texas cheese grits matched with an Amber Ale. Dessert features a Bananas Foster Saint Arnold's Root Beer Float paired with Bishop's Barrel No. 4. Reserve your spot at this anniversary extravaganza for $70 -- the price also includes tickets to tour the brewery and a Saint Arnold beer glass. Stick around after the meal to enjoy a special cask of Saint Arnold's 20th Anniversary barley wine.

Revival Market will host its first Hog Butchery Demonstration of the summer on Tuesday, June 24, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. The second demo will take place on Tuesday, July 1. Dr. Andrew Vaserfirer, charcutier and head butcher at Revival Market, along with owners Ryan Pera and Morgan Weber, will teach guests the basics of American and European butchery by demonstrating how to break down an entire pig and prepare the parts for cooking. Everyone will then get to dig in to the feast. Reserve your spot for $100 and don't forget to bring your own bottle of something alcoholic.
