From now until April 13, each Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar location will offer its signature three-course filet and lobster-pairing dish for $39.95. Begin the meal with a pan-seared scallop served atop goat cheese polenta and either the New Wedge salad complete with grape tomatoes, red onions, crumbled blue cheese and crispy bacon, or Fleming's French onion soup topped with gooey Gruyere and Parmesan cheese. Next, what you came for, the surf and turf special. Enjoy a tender and juicy eight-ounce filet mignon and a broiled eight-ounce lobster tail served with butter, of course.
Each Ragin' Cajun location (except for the one downtown) will celebrate Mardi Gras during Beads, Bands & Bugs on Tuesday, March 4, from 3 p.m. until 11 p.m. Enjoy Happy Hour drink specials from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. including Jell-O shots, $1 off wine and beer, $2 off frozen hurricanes and margaritas, and $4.50 wells. Reserve your spot at this special wine dinner at 60 Degrees Mastercrafted on Monday, March 24, at 6 p.m. before it sells out. The night will include a five-course meal prepared by 60 Degrees Mastercrafted chef Fritz Gitschner and wines from special guest and winemaker James Cahill of Soter Vineyards from Oregon. The meal begins with hors d'oeuvres and a 2009 Brut Rosé, followed by smoked salmon with cauliflower panna cotta and caviar, paired with a 2011 Chardonnay. The next course includes a poulet of pheasant breast, foie gras sausage and creamed Savoy cabbage, paired with an inaugural release of the 2011 Pinot Noir from the North Valley Reserve. Up next is a pepper-crusted Akaushi ribeye with a potato-leek torte; it is paired with the library release of a 2006/2007 Napa Valley Proprietary Red Blend. The meal continues with an assortment of Texas cheeses and salads with a 2011 Pinot Noir from Mineral Springs Ranch. The evening concludes with various macarons and a secret grand finale surprise from the Soter Cellar. The restaurant will accept approximately 40 more guests only, so act fast and reserve your spot at this incredible dinner for $125 per person.

Enjoy and evening of French food and wine at Bistro Provence on Tuesday, March 11, at 7 p.m. The bistro will serve a special dinner paired with wines from Houston's French wine retail store, French Country Wines -- and the owners, Tim Smith and Phyllis Adatto will be in attendance. The meal kicks off with cheese gourgères and a 2012 Macon Solutré from Domaine Romanin, followed by crawfish bisque with a 2011 Pouilly Fuissé "Terroir" also from Domaine Romanin. The third course includes a salad with goat cheese and bacon bits topped with a warm vinaigrette, paired with a 2011 Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Beaunes from Chateau de Melin, followed by crispy pork belly and a poached egg en meurette with another wine from Chateau de Melin, a 2011 Maranges 1er Cru "Clos de Rois." The dinner concludes with the French classic, Boeuf Bourguignon, and a 2009 Gevrey Chambertin from Chateau de Melin. Dessert includes Crêpes Suzette flambéed in Grand Marnier, paired with Crémant de Bourgogne Bichot. The entire meal with wine pairings costs $98 per person; a $50 deposit is required upon making your reservation.

Vintropolis and Colorado-based Oskar Blues Brewery have teamed up to bring a beer event just for the ladies toHouston -- sorry, gents. On Wednesday, March 12, from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., Vintropolis will host a "Beers are for Ladies" class for $30 per person. The night will include tastings of rare beers and samples of various appetizers. There will also be lessons on how to pair these beers with a selection of meats and cheeses. Vintropolis will offer a raffle for a chance to win an Oskar Blues Brewery gift basket.
