The Burger Joint, 2703 Montrose, and Beaver's West, 6024 Westheimer, are just two of the spots offering World Series specials (see the full list of specials here). At Beaver’s, get $2 Knocked Up Queso (regularly $12) and $2 Houston craft drafts all day by wearing Astros gear. The Burger Joint created the Crush City Dog — a foot long dog topped with ‘mac and cheese, chopped bacon and jalapeños available for $8.50 through the series.

Now through Tuesday, October 31, Peli Peli will be celebrating Black Friday early by offering 30 percent off all gift cards for all locations. The gift cards don’t expire and can be purchased in-store or online at pelipeli.com/GC.

Brennan’s of Houston, 3300 Smith, will support the Hurricane Harvey Hospitality Employee Relief Fund with a special Courtyard Social: Jam Jams on Wednesday, November 1. From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., the Courtyard will feature a selection of culinary and musical “jams” with jambalaya (accompanied by all the fixings) in addition to live music by PF & the Flyers. Tickets are $100, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting the relief fund.

Xochi, 1777 Walker, will host a Day of The Dead benefit dinner, raising money for Mexico earthquake relief, on Wednesday, November 1, at 7 p.m. The night will feature Xochi eats — think shrimp a la diabla, slow-roasted duck leg in mole negro and Day of the Dead bread pudding — paired with a tremendous array of Mexican wines, mezcal and sotol. In anticipation of the "I'll Have What She's Having Benefit Dinner," which will bring together an all-female cast of chefs and industry professionals to raise funds in support of women’s health care next spring, a series of A Taste of Things to Come pop-up dinners will take place throughout the fall. The next event will take place on Sunday, November 5, at 6:30 p.m. at Underbelly, 1100 Westheimer, as past and current chefs reunite to raise funds for the uninsured female patients of Legacy Community Health. Chef Erin Smith of Feges BBQ, chef de partie Madalyn Lester and pastry director Victoria Dearmond will team up to present the three-course dinner. Tickets are $60 per person. 

Celebrating five years, Etoile Cuisine et Bar, 1101-11 Uptown Park, will be hosting a very special anniversary wine dinner on Tuesday, November 7, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The five-course dinner will feature an array of seafood, beef and pork, all carefully paired with Domaine de Cristia wines from Medallion Global of Houston. The cost of the dinner is $98 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 832-668-5808.

DR Delicacy and Potente, 1515 Texas, will present La Nuit du Caviar (A Night of Caviar) on Tuesday, November 7, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The evening will highlight domestic and imported caviar and fresh autumn truffles from France and Italy, as chef Danny Trace serves up a menu paired with Champagne and vodka provided by Belvedere, Dom Pérignon and Moët. Tickets are $200 per person and proceeds will go to benefit The Astros Foundation and The Astros Harvey Relief Fund. 

The Periwinkle Foundation’s Iron Sommelier event returns on Thursday, November 9. Held at The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa, 111 North Post Oak, from 6 to 10 p.m., the wine competition and tasting features top area sommeliers, including Evan Turner of Helen Greek Food and Wine and Helen in the Heights, Adele Corrigan of 13 Celsius, and Matthew Pridgen of One Fifth and Underbelly. Tickets are $200 per person, with underwriting opportunities available.
