Upcoming Houston Food Events: Burger Specials & Holiday Feasts

Laurenzo's Restaurant
, 4412 Washington, will be celebrating National Hamburger Day from Monday, December 21 through Sunday, December 27. Order any signature fajita burger – all ground daily inhouse using fresh Hereford beef, outside skirt-steak – and enjoy any draft beer at happy hour prices. All half-pounders are served with house fries for $15.99 to $17.99. Options include the green chile bacon fajita burger and the Italian-style Dom fajita burger, topped with capicola, fresh mozzarella and roasted red peppers.

Pass & Provisions, 807 Taft, has brought back its Feast of the Seven Fishes, but this time, the restaurant has invited a few of its chef friends to join in. For the four nights leading up to Christmas (Monday, December 21 through Thursday, December 24), P&P and its special guests will create a seven-course seafood feast. The all-star lineup includes chefs Hugo and Ruben Ortega on Monday, chefs Ryan Pera and Bobby Matos on Tuesday, chefs Chris Shepherd and Manabu "Hori" Horiuchi on Wednesday, and chefs Logan Ely and Steve Lamborn on Christmas Eve. Tickets are $125 (tax and gratuity not included). A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Gregory Lincoln Elementary School's culinary program.

Kids of all ages are invited to take photos with Saint Nick and Saint Arnold at Saint Arnold Brewing Company, 2000 Lyons, on Tuesday, December 22 and Wednesday, December 23. That's two all-time great beards in the same photo! The brewery will be open regular hours on both of those days and photos will be available (free of charge) between noon and 3 p.m. You’ll also have the chance to enjoy root beer floats and a holiday bake sale, featuring things like Pumpkinator pecan pie, caramel rolls (with or without pecans), Iced Ginger Cookies and Chocolate Brownies (with or without peppermint).

On Wednesday, December 23 at 6:30 p.m., enjoy a Christmas "Eve Eve" Birthday Dinner at Triniti Restaurant, 2815 South Shepherd. To celebrate four years, the restaurant has created a special four-course menu featuring some of its favorite seasonal dishes, all served family-style for a relaxing pre-holiday evening. Feast on things like oysters two ways, sweet potato gnocchi and pulled pork with red wine cremini, roasted beets with pancetta caramel, rib roast with horseradish onion jam, roast chicken with citrus and walnuts, and cakes, cookies and milk, pies, and ice cream for dessert. Tickets are $65 per person and are on sale now through the restaurant only. Call 713-527-9090 to reserve your spot.

There’s still time to complete Treadsack’s 6 stop Egg Nog Crawl, running now through Saturday, December 26. Head to Bernadine’s, 1809 North Shepherd; Hunky Dory, 1809 North Shepherd; D&T Drive Inn, 1307 Enid; Down House, 1801 Yale; Foreign Correspondents, 4721 North Main; or Johnny’s Gold Brick, 2518 Yale, to pick up a Nogsmas punch card and receive a customized punch with each purchase of an egg nog cocktail. Once you've enjoyed all six cocktails (before Saturday, December 26), present your card to any bartender to receive a special holiday gift.
