Because Houstonians made their way through May’s downpours and floods to Holley’s Seafood Restaurant & Oyster Bar every afternoon to chow down on the restaurant’s variously prepared oysters at half the price, the restaurant has decided to continue the special through June. Holley’s is offering all its Happy Hour raw and baked oysters at half price in the bar every Monday and Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Offer is good only in the bar. Time to get slurping.
On Tuesday, June 9, Étoile Cuisine et Bar, 1101 Uptown Park, will be hosting a Bichot Wine Dinner with special guest speaker Nicolas Coullenot. The five-course meal will feature wine pairings and elegant dishes, including fresh smoked salmon tartar and cucumber gazpacho, braised veal brisket with butternut squash, and fresh berry rice pudding, among others. Brand-new brewery City Acre Brewery, which is situated on an acre of land right off 59 North at 3418 Topping, will be hosting its very first Beer Dinner on Thursday, June 11 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Head to the biergarten to feast on four courses – featuring seasonal fare with ingredients from its onsite garden – alongside pairings of exclusive small-batch beer. Dishes include housemade brats and pickles; smoked Gulf fish with melon salad; chile verde porchetta with black bean puree; and beer cookies with blueberry sage ice cream. Tickets can be purchased for $39.95. No tickets will be available at the door and seating is limited, so make sure to reserve your spot now.
Beginning Monday, June 15, Vinoteca, the vibrant, third-floor wine bar at Four Seasons Hotel Houston downtown, 1300 Lamar, is rolling out a new Trattoria menu. Created by Executive Chef Maurizio Ferrarese, this Trattoria meal will feature a number of options: including a scapece bar, antipasti, a mozzarella station, succulent rotisserie chicken, a choice of main courses and tableside tiramisu. But here's something extra: From June 15 through Sunday, June 21 only, all those who reserve seats for the Trattoria menu at Vinoteca can help the kitchen’s culinary team during this opening phase by evaluating the dinner and the pricing. Guests can simply choose what they want to pay, plus commit to leaving a 20 percent gratuity to their server. They'll also enjoy happy hour prices on alcoholic beverages. Reservations are accepted between 5:30 and 10 p.m.

On Tuesday, June 16 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Love146 – an international human rights organization working to end child trafficking and exploitation through survivor care and prevention – is teaming up with Saint Arnold Brewery, 2000 Lyons, to host a Hope Is Brewing Event, a night of meaningful fun where abolitionists and activists can come together for a good cause. Ticket prices include a dinner, craft beer, pub games, trivia and a donation to Love146. Bring a friend and your favorite board game.
