Throughout January, restaurants across Rice Village are participating in Dine Out Rice Village, offering special prixรขย€ย‘fixe menus or featured items with a portion of proceeds benefiting Southern Smoke Foundationโ€™s work supporting food & beverage workers in crisis through emergency relief and noรขย€ย‘cost mental health care. Participating spots include Dโ€™Amicoโ€™s, Hamsa, Hudson House, Mendocino Farms, Miltonโ€™s and Navy Blue, each showcasing unique offerings for the month.ย 

Buttermilk Baby, 600 North Shepherd, has debuted The Boujee Bird, a January-only indulgence stacking juicy ground chicken with savory mushrooms, melted gruyรจre, and a decadent swipe of truffle mayo, all on a buttery toasty bun. Get it for $12.99 now through month-end.

Houston Marathon participants who show proof of finishing the race can enjoy a free sweet treat at Safina inside the InterContinental Houston, 6750 Main, on January 10โ€“11. Runners can choose from Chocolate Marquis, Turtle Cheesecake, Stuffed Caramel Churros or Fried Cheesecake.ย 

Shake Shack is bringing back its fan-favorite Korean-style menu for its third run, with the limited-time lineup launching exclusively on the Shack App on January 6 and rolling out in-Shack at Houston-area locations beginning January 9. The menu features returning Korean-inspired favorites plus new additions like K-Shack Fried Chicken Bites, the first-ever saucy version of the bites, and the K-Shack Spicy Caramel Shake, a sweet-heat dessert debut.

Saint A will host its Barrel-Aged Evening on Friday, January 16, inviting guests to taste a curated lineup of barrel-aged beers straight from the cellar, enjoy open pours from its regular beer lineup, hearty appetizers, a Barrel Room tour and take home a souvenir taster glass plus a 12 oz bottle of barrel-aged Pumpkinator. Tickets are $80 and include all tastings, open bar pours and food. The event runs 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Beer Hall on the second floor of Saint Arnold Brewing Company, 2000 Lyons.ย 

On Saturday, January 17, folks can sample award-winning chili from more than 50 cook teams, sip craft beer and spirits, and catch live music during the 17th annual Yagaโ€™s Chili Quest & Beer Fest in Galvestonโ€™s Historic Strand District. The all-day event also includes the Beerfoot 5K run, a cornhole tournament, a jackpot margarita contest and a Strand merchant walk-about. The festival takes place at 23rd and Strand; ticket options include Chili Tasting Tickets ($16+),ย  General Admission Beers & Cheers (24 two-ounce beer samples and four spirit samples, $43+), VIP and more.
