Backyard Burger Grill Off

Backyard Burger Grill Off
The first-ever Backyard Burger Grill Off took place this past Saturday at Discovery Green Park. Ten local restaurants fired up charcoal grills, crafting unique sliders in hopes of winning the "Best Classic Burger" or "Most Creative Burger" titles. Judges Greg Morago, Sarah Rufca, and the Houston Press' own Katharine Shilcutt granted the "Best Classic Burger" to J. Black's Feel Good Kitchen & Lounge's "Washington Slider", and "Most Creative" to Strait's Restaurant's "Crispy Piggy Burger". Brio Tuscan Grill's blue-cheese topped burger, along with The Grove's pastor burger tied for the People's Choice award. Local craft breweries were on hand, served up samples of their various beers.
