Behind the Scenes at the Circus

1 of 14
The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus is in town once again, opening on Wednesday, July 15 and running through July 26. The Ringling Brothers purchased the Barnum & Bailey Circus in 1907 and toured the country until 1956, when declining popularity caused the circus to close down. Owing in large part to Houston's own Judge Roy Hofheinz, the beloved circus was revitalized in the 1960s and has been touring ever since 1967. With only one day until showtime, the circus staff was busy putting up rigging, getting the animals in place and setting up props and costumes for the Greatest Show on Earth.
