Breast Cancer Support Walk at Sam Houston Park

Hundreds of people gathered at Sam Houston Park on Sunday to walk three miles in support of breast cancer survivors and to raise money for education and support programs. It was the fifth annual Walk to Empower benefiting the Breast Cancer Network of Strength. Toddlers, the elderly, a woman in a wheelchair, another with a walker, all came to try to at least try to complete the three-mile course. And, hey, if people like this can tackle three miles on a hot day, what�s your excuse? PHOTOS BY MARGARET DOWNING
