The wait is over, and this weekend the 1940 Air Terminal Museum unveiled the colorful 1969 Hawker Jet  painted by Mario Figueroa Jr., who goes by the artist name GONZO247. Can you spot the symbols that Figueroa embedded in his creative design for this 3D art installation?

Guests attending the Wings & Wheels Summer Block Party were able to tour the museum's exhibits and enter this year's airplane raffle. The odds are pretty good — just $50 for a raffle ticket and they won't sell more than 2,500 tickets. The big winner is revealed at December's Wings & Wheels open house, or even sooner if the museum hits its goal.

The kids enjoyed story time and a book signing with writer, researcher and historian Danielle Metcalfe-Chenail, who is out with her new book, Alis the Aviator. The author also signed a few extra copies for your next visit to the museum. (Photos by Mark Herman Reyes)
