H-Town's Rappers and Poets Battle Wits in Verses vs. Verses Hip-Hop Dance Party
It was an epic battle this weekend, only this time the the word wars were between Houston's top spoken-word poets and rappers. Verses Vs. Verses went down at 215 Grove Street on July 1, with the party people wearing red, dancing to hip-hop, and watching the wordsmiths duke it out. We saw rappers Devin the Dude, SUC's ESG and Fat Tony, as well as poets Deep, Amir Safi and Jordan Simpson. DJs Charles David, Josiah Gabriel, Baby Roo and Dayta kept us on our feet during this four-hour shebang hosted by Dutch Small.
