It may have been the first black-owned food truck fest, but we suspect it won't be the last. With more than ten different culinary purveyors, SoundBites: Food Truck Festival took over Peggy Park in the Third Ward on April 22. Cultural specialties included fried chicken wings, boudin, Caribbean fare, tacos and organic foods. The lines eventually ran long for this inaugural food truck fest, hosted by Houston Black Restaurant Week, but foodies had plenty of people-watching, live music, games and a Houston African Fashion Week pop-up shop to keep things moving.
