Houston Firefighters Rally at City Hall to Protest Imposed Employment Terms
Firefighters rallied at Houston's City Hall on June 28 to protest threats to their voter-approved collective bargaining rights. Present were members of the Houston Professional Fire Fighters Association and representatives of the International Association of Fire Fighters. The goal was to raise awareness about the pension reform law SB2190 and proposed changes to Houston firefighter wages, benefits and workplace conditions.
Those speaking at the rally included HPFFA President Patrick M. "Marty" Lancton, IAFF General President Harold Schaitberger, IAFF Secretary-Treasurer Ed Kelly and IAFF 11th District Vice President Sandy McGhee.
