Julep Hosts an Oyster Shucking Contest for Damaged Kashmere Gardens Homes

Houston chefs and patrons battled for the title of fastest shucker Monday in a bracket-style tournament hosted by Julep, 1919 Washington Avenue.  Talk show host and media personality Michael Garfield emceed the event.  Ticket and drink sales were donated to Rebar Foundation, a 501(c)(3) created to help rebuild homes in Kashmere Gardens that were devastated by flooding from Hurricane Harvey. (Photos by Doogie Roux)
