Houston Celebrates Juneteenth at Emancipation Park

The Emancipation Park Conservancy celebrated the announcement of the abolition of slavery in the state of Texas, and more generally the emancipation of enslaved African Americans throughout the former Confederate States of America on Saturday. The theme this year was 'Celebrating Our Legacy, Bridging Future Generations." Attendees enjoyed fun activities for the whole family including a kids zone, park tours, food and games The event boasted live performances by J Paul Jr. & The Zydeco Nubreedz, The BB King Blues Band, and several others.
