Monday night a select group of winners and finalists (and their friends and families) were honored at the Houston Press 2019 Houston Theater Awards at Phoenicia Marketplace downtown. Awards were handed out and acceptance speeches made for the eighth annual celebratory evening which gave members of the Houston theater community a chance to get together and take a well-deserved breath before starting the 2019-20 season. Theater District Open House is scheduled for noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, August 25.  (Photos by Jennifer Lake)
