Our worst fears were realized as Houstonians awoke on August 27 to discover that Hurricane Harvey had unleashed unprecedented flooding across Houston and surrounding areas. Houston police and fire departments worked through the night responding to more than 2,000 calls for rescue; that work continues with close to 1,000 calls still in the queue.
