Houston hosted the inagural match of the Americas Rugby Championship between the USA Eagles and the Pumas of Argentina.  While BBVA Compass Stadium was only half full, the rugby fans were loud and deeply involved in the match.  The back and forth high scoring match ended in a 35-35 draw.  It was the first game for new men's national XV coach John Mitchell and the return of Kingsley McGovern, former St. Thomas High School rugby player.  Brazil, Chile, Canada and Uruguay round out the six nations making up the remaining teams of the ARC tournament.
