West Side Story

Two young people find a love worth dying for

It started with Shakespeare's tragic tale of a young couple in love. Then, in the very capable hands of Broadway giants Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim, 14th-century Italy became 1950s New York City and Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet became West Side Story. The musical has become a staple of the American theater, and every year hundreds of community theaters tackle the challenging work. Now it's the Houston Family Arts Center's turn. 8 p.m. June 25 through July 11. 10760 Grant Road. For a full schedule, call 281-685-6374 or visit www.houstonfac.com. $12 to $16.
June 25-27; Thursdays-Saturdays; July 8-11. Starts: June 25. Continues through July 3, 2010
