Gemma Wilcox: Shadows in Bloom

The award-winning actress listens to the ticking of her biological clock

Theater lovers are in for a treat with Gemma Wilcox: Shadows in Bloom. The new, already acclaimed one-woman show takes a look at a 30-year-old woman who is down and out and much, much too aware of her biological clock. Filled with vignettes and more than 20 characters, Shadows in Bloomallows Wilcox to do what she does best - flesh out complex characters, one bit at a time (sort of an emotional striptease). Wilcox recently won several honors at the Vancouver Fringe Festival, including Pick of the Fringe, Best Female Performance and Best Solo Performance. See what earned her all those accolades at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 4 and 6 p.m. Sunday. Theatre LaB Houston, 1706 Alamo Street. For information, call 713-868-7516 or visit www.theaterlabhouston.com. $25 to $30.
Oct. 13-16, 8 p.m.; Sun., Oct. 17, 4 & 6 p.m., 2010
