In the exhibition “Lisa Gralnick: The Gold Standard,” Gralnick explores our complicated relationship with the precious metal. One work, The Gold Standard #9, is made up of a stack of plastered lightbulbs, one with an 18-karat gold tip worth $162, the equivalent of a one-month bill for a three-bedroom house. Another, The Gold Standard Part I: #8 Rhinoplasty, is a plaster cast of a face, with the nose covered in gold. Other pieces are plaster molds of gold jewelry. After casting them, she melts the jewelry down and creates new objects, like a chastity belt, and creates backstories for them. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, noon to 5 p.m. Sundays.
