Some Traditional American values aren't uniquely American but are shared by many cultures and nations. That said, some traditional American values that come to mind (you might want to review a document commonly known as The Bill of Rights for some of these): 1. English as our national language for all social activities. A common language helps binds us together. 2. Respect for property rights. 3. The rule of law. 4. Free speech. 5. The willingness of Americans to sacrifice lives and resources to oppose oppression and aggression. 6. The real possibility to better one's self and family by prospering in a relatively free market economy and its concurrent desire that your children and grandchildren have a better life than you've had. 7. The right to keep and bear arms. 8. A civilian life free from military intervention, real or threatened. 9. Fair and open elections. 10. American art, literature, film and folklore.
