In 1991 Mike Cheiky made prototype zinc-air batteries that were used to power a converted Honda CRX to race in a Solar & Electric 500 race at Phoenix International Raceway. The car won the race, it's competition being more conventional batteries available at the time. The race was chronicled in Popular Science, June 1991. Could any of Cheiky's work benefit this ASU effort? He is a world renowned technology entrepreneur.
