10. JR'S BAR & GRILL We love everything about karaoke at JR's, right in the heart of the gayborhood. The music selection is fantastic, the crowd is receptive, and tons of folks crowd into the back room to watch. However, the bar's massive karaoke following is the precise reason we stay active voyeurs rather than participants: no one can follow up those Beyonce numbers quite like the karaoke veterans who hang out here. If you're a novice, ease your way in on this one.

9. VINTAGE PUB This little pub is known for its Karaoke Thursdays, probably due in part to the fact that they have some decent rock songs to choose from. Cheap drinks, too. And on the upside? No Britney here -- unless you're hell-bent on it, anyway.

8. YES KTV Want to go sing karaoke, but don't want to pay a premium for the drinks that you'll need to brave the stage? Well, that's just fine with Yes KTV. This bar has private rooms set up to host groups of any size, and a song list brimming with sweet pop and R&B songs. It's best to try out your '90s Whitney Houston chops in the comfort of a small group and while consuming large amounts of alcohol, which is just what Yes KTV can offer.
