A Tampa Bay Devil Rays pitcher was suspended yesterday for 50 games. The suspension is for steroids. If you’ll notice, there are a lot of pitchers on this list of players nailed for steroids.

I bring this up for one reason: Roger Clemens is no longer in Houston. And as I’ve detailed before, it’s kind of funny how his name keeps appearing with suspected steroid users, but most of the Houston media keep defending him. So, now that the Rocket has flown off to New York, are you, like me, wondering if the great minds at the Chronicle are actually going to start trying to find out if there’s actually any truth to the allegations?

Nah, they’ve got too much preparation to do for their radio shows. But maybe the New York media will look into it. They’re not as big on that whole hero worship thing. — John Royal
