Hair Balls recently received an exclusive tour of the new Houston Dynamo Stadium, and things look to be taking shape as planned.

The player’s tunnel is already in place while last week, part of the concrete concourse was poured. The remainder will be installed this week after the rains delayed things a bit.

By the beginning of August, says project manager Matt G. Doffing of the Manhattan Construction Company, folks driving by will begin to take notice of the massive steel beams. In all, 2,200 tons of structural steel will help hold the 22,000-seat joint together.

The target opening date is mid-2012. Here are some additional images of what the grounds currently look like:
