The Houston Area Urban League teamed with S.H.A.P.E. Community Center and handed out cameras to ten kids in the Third Ward area. They threw in lessons from former Houston Chron photog Ben De Soto and the simple instructions ยTake snapshots of people who make a difference.ย The resulting photographs make up the ยStrong Family, Strong Communityย exhibit at the Childrenยs Museum of Houston. The photos range from simple shots of other children in a playground to more insightful shots of the photographer/childยs own shadow; all of them give us the opportunity to check out what the world looks like to a ten-year-old.
